Elevate Your Health Literacy

Tailored Training, Personalized Coaching, and Expert Document Review

Why Health Literacy Matters

According to the CDC, nearly 9 out of 10 adults struggle to understand and use personal and public health information when it’s filled with unfamiliar or complex terms.

Limited health literacy costs the healthcare system money and results in higher than necessary morbidity and mortality. Improving health literacy could prevent nearly 1 million hospital visits and save over $25 billion a year.

Training

  • Choose between our ready-to-deliver webinars or customize based on the needs of your team. We regularly modify trainings based on the experience level and specialties of the team.

  • 90 minutes: Full comprehensive health literacy webinar.

45-60 minutes: Lightning speed webinar. This is a great option if you are short on time, works well for grand rounds.

20-30 minutes: mini-sessions. Each session will focus on one area of health literacy. We recommend stacking these trainings as a series.

  • Live: we deliver an interactive webinar to your staff live.

Recorded: we record the webinar for you to be shared with your staff or uploaded into an LMS as a video.

  • We typically run webinars in Zoom but are happy to use any platform you prefer, including (but not limited to) WebEx and Google Meet.

Coaching

  • All patient-facing staff benefit from health literacy coaching. From your providers to your front desk staff, coaching is optimized for each role.

  • Coaching sessions are tailored to meet your staff needs. They include a mock interaction with a standardized patient in the health topic of your choice, followed by detailed feedback and recommendations.

  • Coaching sessions are available individually and as recurring sessions to ensure staff are fully versed in the principles of health literacy.

  • Health Literacy Coaching is the perfect addition to any residency, fellowship, or onboarding.

Document Review

  • All patient-facing documents benefit from health literacy review. We have experience with educational handouts, medication instructions, forms, letters, social media posts, PowerPoint slide decks, and more.

  • With our Health Literacy document review, we customize your materials to match your audience's reading level. We routinely edit documents from a college reading level to 7th grade. Choose clarity that suits your patients best.

  • Our Health Literacy design review ensures your materials communicate clearly and are visually accessible to all. Review includes fonts, color contrasts, layout, and image analysis.

  • Health literate companion documents are a great option to tailor complex legal or medical materials, without altering the original content. A companion document is given in addition to a medically complex information sheet, letter or form. Examples include: cover letters, FAQs, and step-by-step guides.

  • Elevate your patient engagement with clear, reader-friendly materials that speak to everyone. We work with you on all aspects of our document and return it ready to be distributed.
